A lifetime of coaching.

I've got a passion for inspiring children to become amazing at sport, building confidence, developing world-class skills and hopefully introducing them to a lifetime of sport and activity.

Stuart's journey

From PE to Premier League.

From my beginnings as a PE teacher to coaching current Premier League players Archie Gray and Harry Gray at Brazilian Soccer Schools, I have developed a passion for nurturing talent and inspiring young athletes to reach their full potential.

Charlotte's email

From Oranges to Australia

I hope this email finds you well. I'm unsure if you remember me from your soccer school, but you gave me such valuable life lessons, encouragement and support that was much needed during my youth. Although I went to play football for other teams I later was picked up by Bradford city, then eventually moving to rugby league whereby I played internationally for many years with 15 caps, was a grand final winner and the first female to play from England over in Australia. I often think back to those days as a 6 year old. I never felt as a girl that I was allowed to play sport but you asked my dad why I wasn't joining in and after that the rest was history. Thanks so much again. Keep doing what you're doing. My early days of playing football in the kitchen with a bruised orange came in useful, in ways I never thought.... much beyond kick ups!

Warm regards,
Charlotte Booth

Amazing skills

From Watching to World Champion

Rebecca came along to her first training session aged 8 with a best score of 3 kick-ups. After 1 year of training with Stuart, her best score was over 3,000. England trials followed but Rebecca found her passion in football freestyle and went on to become a World Champion.

Jamie Johnson FC

From Football to Film

Through my football coaching, I have inspired children who have gone on to become elite performers in other sports and have been successful in their chosen journeys. I ignited a passion for sport and developed their early footballing skills before they achieved great things elsewhere.

Most recently, my soccer school has provided over 50 players for the excellent BBC drama "Jamie Johnson FC", including Gabe Holt, who plays one of the lead roles (Andrew Finch).

Gabe joined a professional academy and achieved international honours representing England schoolboys (ISFA). He auditioned for the lead role in JJFC and is brilliant as Andrew Finch alongside my son Jamie, who plays Tony Rowe. I even played a small role as the assistant manager for Foxborough FC.

Meet the coach

My coaching journey.

I’m Stuart Owen, the creator of Amazing at Sport. As a father of three, sports coach and PE teacher, I’ve used my years of experience in teaching PE and running an exceptionally successful soccer school to develop the Amazing at Sport Programme.

Once my children were walking, we started to spend hours playing sports in a small room at the back of our house. They cherished our special time together, and I was amazed at the skills they developed while taking on some really difficult sporting challenges.

This led to the birth of Amazing at Sport, a specially designed programme of challenges that progressively teaches children multiple sports. I embarked on this sporting adventure with my children, resulting in hours of fun and significant skill development at an early age.

Over the years, I have helped over 10,000 children develop their skills, discover a love for sports, and motivate them to be the best they can be. I hope the Amazing at Sport programme brings you as much joy and creates as many fantastic memories as it did for me. Have fun!

A proven track record of success

As a coach, I'm proud of all the children who have benefitted from my teaching skills.

Here are some of the success stories that started out at my Soccer School and have gone on to have worldwide success in a wide variety of sports.

Will & Rebecca Hugill

Rebecca first came to my Brazilian Soccer School to watch her brother train. I encouraged her to join in and within a year, she was performing over 3,000 kick ups. This remarkable progress laid the foundation for her future success, as she went on to become a Junior World Freestyle Champion, showcasing her talent on international stages.

George Mills

George was developing into an excellent footballer before he chose to focus on running as his sporting career. He has become an amazing runner and is the third fastest mile runner in British history, behind Steve Cram and Seb Coe, and reached the 5,000m final at the 2024 Paris Olympics. His brother Stan is a profesional footballer.

Luke Richardson

Luke's journey from football to powerlifting is a remarkable testament to his versatility and determination. After honing his football skills, he discovered a passion for strength sports. His hard work and dedication paid off when he became the youngest ever Europe's Strongest Man in 2020, winning the title again in 2025.

Archie Gray

Archie, who was a standout player for Leeds United, has now taken a significant step in his career by signing with Spurs. His journey with me began at Brazilian Soccer Schools at the age of four, where he honed his skills over nine years, developing into a versatile and dynamic player, making him a promising talent in the Premier League.

Charlotte Booth

Charlotte's journey in rugby league is a testament to her determination and skill. After her time at my first Brazilian Soccer School in Bradford, she excelled in rugby league, playing for Bradford Bulls, Leeds Rhinos and representing England. Her move to Australia marked her as a trailblazer, becoming the first English woman to play there professionally.

Amhra Stott

Amhra was late to football joining my soccer school as a teenager but clearly had a tremendous athletic base. He quickly became an excellent footballer before pursuing athletics at Loughborough University. It was there that his athletics coach suggested a switch to Bobsleigh and Amhra is now an international athletic representing Great Britain.
